HONG KONG, AUG 13, 2026 - The Hong Kong Food Expo kicked off today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the annual five-day event drawing in thousands of shoppers to hunt for cheap deals and sample international delicacies.
Residents packed into the air-conditioned venue to escape a record-shattering heatwave that has gripped the city. The Hong Kong Observatory reported that the city has sweltered through consecutive days of extreme temperatures following historic highs earlier in the week driven by subsiding air from Typhoon Dolphin pushing residents to seek refuge in indoor mega-events
Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the expo runs alongside concurrent showcases including the Beauty & Wellness Expo, Home Delights Expo, and Food Expo PRO.
