Hong Kong Ocean Park has unveiled its exhibit, the "Reptile Territory", which officially opens to the public on August 21, 2026.
The exhibit brings together approximately 20 reptile species from around the world, many of which are rare and endangered. Highlights include the Chinese crocodile lizard, a species under China's top-level national protection, as well as endangered species such as the rhinoceros iguana, sailfin lizard, blue-tongued skink, and veiled chameleon.
Several of these animals were confiscated by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) from illegal wildlife trade operations and subsequently entrusted to Ocean Park for care and rehabilitation. Upon arrival, some required special medical attention, but all have since recovered and are now in good health.
The exhibit opens to Annual Pass holders on August 20 and to the general public on August 21.
